She's hot, she has her own clothing line, she's rich (daughter of AmBank Group chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim), she's a former hip-hop MC (Teh Tarik Crew) and now a R&B star. Oh and she is Malaysian! What is not to love? With her super sexy image - some lambasted her since she's a Muslim, she turned out to be more than the pretty face.
Growing up, Nina was influenced by many of the great 1980s and 90s American hip-hop acts, including the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Run DMC, The Roots and Lauryn Hill of The Fugees. At university, she started to perform underground hip-hop gigs before forming her own group. “I was very much a fan of hip-hop during my school years and then I met the members of Teh Tarik Crew at college,” she says.
